How One Student Is Helping Others Meet Jesus

One of the greatest joys at Youth For Christ is seeing students not only decide to follow Jesus but also take steps to live out their faith in meaningful ways. Recently, I had the honor of baptizing a student named Katelynn, a moment that beautifully illustrates this journey.

Katelynn has been part of Campus Life for four years, coming faithfully since 7th grade. She’s attended camp three times, and over those years, we’ve watched her love for Jesus grow and her faith deepen. In October, Katelynn publicly declared her faith through baptism, marking a significant step in her spiritual journey.

Today, Katelynn is actively serving in her local church, rarely missing Sunday gatherings and encouraging her family to join as well. She continues to attend Youth Group midweek and participates in a small group designed for students sensing a call toward vocational ministry. In addition, Katelynn has stepped into leadership in the middle school club, helping younger students take their first steps in discovering Jesus.

Beyond her church involvement, Katelynn also leads a Bible study at her high school every Wednesday morning. She and a friend prepare lessons, guide discussions, and pray with classmates before school begins. Through these opportunities, Katelynn is learning to serve, lead, and share her faith in practical, impactful ways.

Stories like Katelynn’s are exactly why we do what we do at Youth For Christ, walking alongside students, seeing them grow, and watching them step into leadership and discipleship. It’s incredible to see a student not just experience Jesus, but also introduce others to Him, building a ripple effect of faith that spreads throughout their school, church, and community.

As Katelynn continues to take next steps in her faith, we ask you to pray for her that she will grow in courage, wisdom, and love as she follows God’s plan and helps others meet Jesus along the way.
